Islington’s ISKF shotokun karate team had fantastic success at the SKCE Open Nationals at Brunel University in Uxbridge last weekend.
Members of the squad, which trains at the Sobell Leisure Centre under the guidance of seventh day sensei Ahcene Moussassoui, combined to collect an impressive 16 medals in total.
These were claimedl from different categories, while there was gold in the team kumite for 16-year-old Yassin Adjadj, 17-year-old Shannon Rex and 15-year-old Shevin Elwin.
Amine Achour, 14, won two golds in kata and kumite, while Dell Andrews picked up another gold in the senior kumite.
The club trains on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Sobell Leisure Centre in Islington and anyone wanting more information can contact them either by calling 07957 630463 or emailing them at info.sobellkarate@gmail.com.
