Jake King scored twice as Admiral made up ground on the leaders with a convincing victory despite their late defensive lapse.
Chris Bourne set up Admiral’s opening goal with a pinpoint cross for Jordy Ndjeka and Ali Yaslem finished off to make it 2-0 after good work from Ashley Taylor-Forbes.
Ramie Rifat capitalised on another excellent cross from Bourne to extend his side’s advantage and King netted his first of the night – with Taylor-Forbes again providing the assist – to make it 4-0 at half-time.
King added a second after the break and Taylor-Forbes also got his name on the scoresheet – but Admiral then eased off and allowed Vegas to pull back three goals before the final whistle.
Admiral are continuing to raise funds to help 11-year-old Tony Clark – the son of their manager Anthony Clark – who is battling a rare form of leukaemia.
Tony is currently undergoing chemotherapy and anyone who would like to help support him and the Clark family can donate via the Team Tony JustGiving page at www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/admiralfc
