Islington BC cruiserweight Ryan Charles continued his run of success on the international stage with a gold medal at the Creole Games in St Lucia.
The 26-year-old won his first international gold medal at the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States Boxing Championships earlier this summer, and followed that up with a second at the Creole Games.
As there is no cruiserweight division at international level, Charles – who represents the host nation – boxed at under-91kg and defeated Fredrick Nicols of French Guiana by unanimous decision.
The Islington boxer, who is a personal trainer at PureGym, Holloway Road, has been selected to contest the Elite Continental Championships in Chile later this month.
He will also be representing St Lucia at the 2013 AIBA World Amateur Championships before preparing for next year’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
