Former amateur boxer Kieran Bukowski has boosted the Islington BC coffers by more than £1,000 with a sponsored bicycle ride from London to Brighton.

The 52-year-old, who grew up in Archway, donned an entirely pink outfit – including an Islington BC T-shirt – for the 54-mile ride to raise funds for the club.

Islington BC events manager Mick Doherty said: “The club wish to thank Kieran and his many sponsors for their generosity. Kieran is a real character and it’s great to see him supporting the sport he still enjoys.”

Anyone who would like to add to the fund can do so at: https://www.justgiving.com/islingtonboxingclub/

The club will be holding their annual awards ceremony at the Hazellville Road gym on Sunday June 26, including drinks and a barbecue. All members are welcome, as are guests for a £5 fee.
