Darnell Goather and Joe White both hit doubles as Islington & Camden Under-15s swept to an impressive 4-1 victory at Hillingdon in the Star Shield.
White set up the in-from Goather to open the scoring midway through the first half, rifling his finish into the far corner.
I&C were indebted to a superb save by Edgar Paxi-Cato to preserve their lead – and they were forced to reshuffle when centre-back Frankie Chandler went off injured.
But the visitors increased their advantage soon after the restart with a free-flowing move as Romeo Akinola combined with White to tee up Goather’s second of the game.
Skipper Dylan Bolister played White through to turn his marker and make it 3-0 – only for Hillingdon to respond with a good spell of pressure and reduce the deficit following a goalmouth scramble.
However, I&C rounded off an excellent performance with a neat passing move, culminating in White’s lob over the keeper.
Islington & Camden: Paxi-Cato, Brown, Goather, Yengonde (Central Foundation), Price (St Mary Magdalene), Chandler, Bolister (St Aloysius), Miles, Samuel-Clarke (Acland Burghley).
