Islington’s Orlan Jackman has urged talented prospects to seize their chance to take a step towards professional basketball at the Copper Box Arena later this month.

Jackman, who played for German club Iserlohn Kangaroos last season, is also a member of the Midnight Madness team that regularly represents the UK in high-profile international tournaments around the world.

Midnight Madness have helped more than 200 British players to turn pro over the last 15 years and are currently holding five regional qualifying tournaments to identify new talent, including the London event a week on Saturday.

“Midnight Madness is the biggest basketball competition in England that is free and accessible to everyone,” said Jackman.

“All you have to do is sign up to show and prove your skills, and you might be on this year’s Midnight Madness Travel Team to play in international tournaments.

“The opportunities are real and available, so sign up because you do not want to miss out!”

Jackman recently played for Midnight Madness at the Quai 54 World Streetball Championship in Paris, as well as Germany’s Reality Check tournament, where they finished runners-up.
