Lion ABC’s Louis Isaacs is to turn professional and sign for promoter Frank Warren when he reaches his 18th birthday this summer.

The Islington-based light-welterweight won London NABC and Schools titles, as well as reaching the semi-finals of last year’s England Youth Championships.

Isaacs has been pencilled in to make his paid debut in September, and will be trained by Gary Logan, who also looks after another ex-Lion boxer, Joey Taylor.

The Hoxton club have three entries in the London North East junior championships, which takes place tonight (Thursday) at Waltham Forest ABC, Chingford.

Frankie Arnold has been matched against Repton BC’s Tony Roberts, who won a national junior title last year.

Amo Singh faces another Repton opponent, John Connor Lee, who is unbeaten in 12 contests, while Michael McDonagh will be taking on Joe Payne (Waltham Forest ABC).

Lion ABC are holding an open show at their Pitfield Street headquarters on Friday February 27.
