Goalkeeper Sam Barlow was the hero for Lyndhurst Under-16s as they emerged victorious on penalties at the Windsor FC Youth Tournament.

Lyndhurst proved to be the tournament’s penalty specialists, winning both their quarter-final and semi-final ties on spot-kicks courtesy of some fine saves by Barlow.

That put them into the final against Southcote Colts and, despite having the better of the game, they were denied by a combination of the keeper and the woodwork.

With extra time failing to produce a goal, Lyndhurst faced their third shoot-out of the tournament – and the sides remained neck and neck as the keepers stepped up to the spot.

Barlow pulled off a tremendous stop to deny his opposite number and then kept his composure to slot the next kick into the bottom left-hand corner and clinch the trophy for Lyndhurst.
