SKL celebrate four years since being founded by sensei Antonio Telmo

Shotokan Karate London (SKL) celebrated their fourth birthday with a day packed full of events.

A pre-grading session was organised for the day, with members from across the club involved, as brown and black belts examined the students in action.

Following the session, there were several karate demonstrations, before the party headed to nearby Haggerston Park for a picnic.

“It was a great day of fun with the sun adding to the celebration and everyone enjoyed cake whilst sharing karate stories,” said SKL sensei Antonio Telmo.

The events were the latest in a month of celebrations for SKL’s fourth anniversary, which started with a special class held by the sea in Brighton, before a bike ride the coast.

• SKL is offering four weeks’ on-going introduction courses for free until the end of the month. Places are limited, so please book now. Classes are on Wednesdays and Saturdays in the Shoreditch area from 7pm.

SKL was founded in April 2013 and still use their primary dojo in Old Street, but now also run classes in Hoxton and Haggerston.
