Middlesex’s title-winning squad gained the royal seal of approval when they were presented with the County Championship trophy at Buckingham Palace.
The players received the silverware from HRH the Duke of Edinburgh – patron of the Lord’s Taverners, who are the leading youth cricket and disability sports charity in the country.
Captain James Franklin said: “Lifting the County Championship trophy ranks as one of the proudest achievements of my career to date. The opportunity to attend Buckingham Palace to receive our winners’ medals and the trophy is just incredible and our sincere thanks go to the Lord’s Taverners for hosting this wonderful occasion.”
