Stuart Pickles reeled off a maximum to steer Tufnell Park’s Bostom Arms to an excellent opening win as the new Archway Darts League season began.
New signing Pickles was well supported by a 108 out-shot by teammate Dave Holmes to secure an 11-4 win over Sheephaven Bay, while British Legion emerged triumphant against Royal Oak on home turf 10-5.
Johnny Saunders led the way for champions Kennedy’s with a masterful 128 finish as they thumped Royal Oak B away 13-2, displaying their incredible strength in depth, with Bob Triggs hitting a fine 16-dart leg.
Caledonian Road neighbours Doyles A matched their closest rivals’ winning margin by hammering Old Oak 13-2, as Scott Robinson’s troops displayed no signs of early complacency.
Elsewhere, Camden’s Golden Lion lost 12-3 at home to a full strength North 19 as Miles Fairhurst took the man of the match award.
