Finsbury Park coach Gareth Chapman says opponents Hendon will have no home advantage in their Herts/Middlesex One clash this weekend.
Park have had to use Hendon’s Greenlands Lane ground for a few of their home fixtures this season and will be familiar with it when they make the trip their on Saturday.
Although Chapman did admit they don’t know much about Hendon, who are currently 10th in the table, saying: “We really don’t, it’s an interesting one as we’ve had to play a few home games at their ground this year, so it’s a bit of a home from home.
“We don’t know much about them, that’s why the first half of any game is important as you learn more then, but it’s all about us doing what we do well and taking the game to them.
“We know the ground now, the guys have had a couple of opportunities to get used to it, they know the width of the pitch and what game plan works there. That will be an advantage for us.”
Former player Chapman says they can’t take Hendon lightly despite their position in the league table, adding: “You can’t, in this league if you look at it over the past few years, you get teams that are hanging around the bottom of the league and then they go and win two, three or four games in a row.
“Every single week you have to go and earn the right to win the game, and that’s what we’re trying to instil with the lads, as it doesn’t matter where a team is in the table you have to bring your a game.
Park go into the match on the back of a 36-0 win at Barnet Elizabethans to remain top of the league and Chapman said: “Very pleased, it was nice to turn things back around after what happened the week before, so I’m very happy.
“If I’m honest to come back out with a 36-0 win I think it shows what the weekend before meant to the guys. They didn’t want it to happen again so everything changed.”
