South Hampstead were left empty-handed after losing to Middlesex Tamil Sports & Social Club in their latest Middlesex League Division Three outing at Milverton Road.

Put into bat, the home side saw Mohamad Choudhry (22) put on 59 with captain Leroy Shepherd (33), before both fell in quick succession and Avnish Patel was dismissed cheaply to leave them 81-3.

Nish Patel held firm to score 70 off 71 balls, hitting three sixes and four fours, and he had decent support from Majid Akram (48), before another clutter of wickets went down to see South Hampstead all out for 216 in 54 overs.

The visitors built three good partnerships in reply to reach 142-2, as Saqib Pervez and Choudhry claimed the wickets to fall.

Shepherd produced a couple of run outs to make it 155-4, but a second wicket for Pervez (2-70) proved little consolation as South Hampstead fell to a disappointing five-wicket defeat.
