Islington’s Anaconda Swimming Club youngster Tommy Donovan was awarded the Alan Lawrence Memorial Trophy at the weekend.

The award is presented by Middlesex County ASA for the best single performance by a junior boy at the Middlesex Championships and county president Flo Barnes visited The Cally Pool-based club to present 16-year-old Donovan with the trophy during a training session.

Anaconda head coach Wayne Lock said: “I am very pleased that Tommy’s hard work has been recognised in the shape of this award. It is well deserved.”
