Times ABC teenager Kian William made an impressive debut as he took a unanimous points decision against Haringey ABC’s Denis Sabau.

The 14-year-old looked calm and composed in his first outing, on the St Pancras show at Camden Irish Centre, and superior footwork kept him out of Sabau’s range.

William, who has been training hard and even took part in a boot camp in Marbella in preparation for his debut, showed great fitness as he finished the contest strongly.

The Times youngster continually racked up the points as he landed clean, straight shots and did enough to take the decision at the end of three two-minute rounds.

Coaches Dave Streatfield and Jock Macdonald said they were “very impressed” by William’s debut performance.
