THREE more Camden Swiss Cottage swimmers have achieved national qualifying times for the first time and will now compete at the highest level in the country in July.

Alex Peake, Joel Sands and Edward Graham will join the six other Camden swimmers who have already made the national grade - Harry Needs, Devon Robins, Bogac Ayhan, Alex Mackay, Felix Samuels and Ed Walsh.

Five other Cottagers are also very close to achieving their national qualifying times and they could yet join their nine club-mates before the deadline in June.

Peake, 12, becomes the youngest swimmer to represent Camden in the National Age Groups after a stunning 2:53.57 time in the 200m breaststroke at the Coventry Open Meet.

He won four golds in the 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke and the 50m butterfly, and bronze in the 100m freestyle.

Meanwhile Sands, 15, and Graham, 14, made their national times at the London Region Distance Meet in Aldershot, Hampshire.

Sands made a PB in the 800m and Graham was fast enough over the first 800m of his 1500m free race to qualify for the 800m event as well as the 1500m.

Needs, 16, has already qualified for the National Youth Championships in many events, but he added the 800m to his list with a PB of 9:00.51.

Devon Robins, 14, recently achieved her 200m individual medley qualifying time, but she added the 100m fly to her national challenge at the Crawley Open Meet, where she won silver in the 14-15 age group.

Reut Benaim, 13, won the 12-13s 200m fly, but she was less fortunate in the 100m fly when she finished an agonising 0.31s outside of the national qualifying time.

Sarah Taylor-Reid, 12, bagged two golds in Coventry in the 50m and 100m breaststroke and silver in the 200m.

Kelly Hookway, 11, landed a fabulous six medals including gold for her 100m fly and five bronzes in 100m free, 100m back, 100 breaststroke, 200m back and 200m individual medley.

Leo Jaggs, 14, brought home two golds for 50m fly and backstroke and a silver for 50m freestyle.

Eugene Potter, 12, grabbed silver for his 50m backstroke swim and Billy Bradley, 11, achieved a club record in the 400 IM and the bronze medal for the 50m fly.
