A first quarter blitz of 31 points paved the way for Access2Sports Under-16s to wipe out Hackney Jedis 66-12 and maintain their unbeaten Community Basketball League record in style.

The Islington side stormed out of the blocks as Jason Prince knocked down threes to rack up 11 points, while Xavier Rey-Edwards added a further nine to extend their lead.

Dreyshun Brown, who was named MVP, acted as the glue for A2S, locking down his opponents as well as contributing six points.

Hackney staged a brief fightback, but they were unable to stop Rio-Dexter Murray-Webster and Jason Duran from dominating as A2S ran away with the game to finish victorious by 54 points.

Brown said: “It’s important to win as a team and everyone had a chance to shine. We’re proud to stand undefeated and we look forward to the play-offs.”

The league is run by the London School of Basketball in partnership with Reach and Teach. For more information, contact fmacaly@reachandteach.co.uk
