Following the success of their Haggerston and Seven Dials venues, Chick ‘n’ Sours bring a fresh new menu to their latest restaurant in Islington.

If you like your fried chicken washed down by sour cocktails, we come bearing great news. Chick ‘n’ Sours, specialists in both of the above, are all set to open their third restaurant on Upper Street next week.

Chapter three of Chick ‘n’ Sours is to officially launch on Thursday September 27, after a three-day soft launch during which you’ll be able to get 50 per cent off all food.

With successful eateries already in full flow in Haggerston and Seven Dials, owners Carl Clarke and David Wolanski bring a tasty new range of dishes to the table this time around after a successful trial at their Kingsland Road site.

Carl says: “Islington holds a very special place in my heart. Back in my DJ days, I mixed an album at Rollo’s Swanyard Studios, just up the road. There used to be a wicked buzz round here and I spent many a long night at places like Medicine Bar and The Embassy.

“I’d like to bring back that amazing north London mix of good food and fantastic music to our Chick ‘n’ Sours on Upper Street.”

Chick ‘n’ Sours on Upper Street will have room for 60 plus a separate bar, as well as outside seating and an open-kitchen to bring an extra buzz to the atmosphere.

Although many of the restaurants’ fan-favourite dishes are retained, diners will also find a number of new items on the menu.

Chicken toast (think prawn toast but with, well, chicken) and the Seoul Destroyer – a Korean glazed burger topped with nacho cheese and kimchi – are two headline additions. The new Chick ‘n’ Sours will also feature a Weekend Treats menu including the likes of hot chicken and kimchi cornbread waffles and PBJ French Toast, as well as chilli fish sauce caramel wings.

If you’re a Chick ‘n’ Sours newbie and unsure where to start, you could opt for the No Brainer set menu, incorporating a highlight-reel of the venue’s best plates at £18 per head.

Co-founder David adds: “There’s a new wave of independent and quality openings happening and hidden amongst the huge chains there are also some real gems that have stood the test of time.

“We’re well up for the challenge and can’t wait for the people of Islington to experience the unique Chick ‘n’ Sours food, hospitality and vibes.”
