Islington’s revamped Milner Square Gardens has been celebrated by the community following its £235,000 revamp.

Council workers coming to work under the influence of drugs and alcohol could be partly to blame for a £2million hole in Islington’s budget, the council’s crime chief claimed this week.

Roy Johnson, 60, was born in Trenchtown, Jamaica, but has lived in Manor House and worked for Islington Council for the past 30 years.

The “wonderful” Barnsbury Community Garden Project unveiled new green spaces and the “smallest library in London” last Friday.
